Power
Every country or nation wants power and desires to do as they please with their land and people. But some rulers feel very big and powerful and want to rule other countries and some even want the whole world in their hands.
From the beginning of time man has been fighting. Satan is the instigator of this horror that man has to face continually. It seems there are few people that have respect for the life that God has so miraculously created with His great power and keeps the heart beating moment by moment for many years.
What a thoughtful God we have to do so much for us.
Our wonderful Lord has given us warnings of the things that Satan would inspire man to do. He tells us in the Bible that such things would definitely conspire on the earth.
The Bible tells us of a certain power which it specifically identifies as Rome in the image of Daniel two and the little horn of Daniel seven.
The characteristics of this power are brought out in this chapter. These marks are also referred to as Babylon or the papacy. It says it right in the Bible.
Daniel 7:7
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
Daniel 7:8
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:23
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Daniel 7:24
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three
kings.
Daniel 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand
until a time and times and the dividing of time.
The Great Controversy

The great sin charged against Babylon is, that she "made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." This cup of intoxication which she presents to the world, represents the false doctrines that she has accepted as the result of her unlawful connection with the great ones of the earth. Friendship with the world corrupts her faith, and in her turn she exerts a corrupting influence upon the world by teaching doctrines which are opposed to the plainest statements of Holy Writ.
This Power
1. Came shortly after the time of the ten tribes invading Europe and overran three of them.
2. Is very strong like iron teeth and destructive, making war.
3. Is different in that it is a political and religious power.
4. Its leader would call himself God.
5. It would persecute the true people of God.
6. It has thought to change the Sabbath from the seventh day to the first day of the week.
7. It has left out the second commandment and divided the tenth into two.
8. It worships idols.
9. Would reign for 1260 years.
10.Made all nations drink of her fornication of evil.
This is the Catholic religion that meets all these marks.
2. Thessalonians 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2. Thessalonians 2:4
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Revelation 13:3
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
Revelation 13:4
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is
Like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?
Revelation 13:5
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
There are many beautiful Christians in the Catholic church. It is the evil system that controls this huge number of people that is mentioned here.
Daniel 8:24
“And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
Daniel 8:25
And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
